Holy Smokes! We made it to Episode 50 of Season 5. My oh my how time flies! And Your Old Pal Will is finally getting used to dropping fresh episodes of Vinyl-O-Matic on Saturdays. Before long, he'll even be sending out the Amplifier newsletter in a timely manner.
Season 5, Episode 50 covers all kindsa territory and microclimates as we burn through bubblefun rock, classic goth-y New Wave, low-frequency drone, local post-punk, more Bakersfield sound, classic 70s r&b, big band jazz, late 70s country boogie, solid contemporary garage rock, a groovy take on Leonard Cohen (again), cool jazz, and swing jazz. Phew!
And of course the 2021 Earworm of the Day playlist continues to churn along. Since we last met, there have been additions of Deee-Lite, Deltron 3030, Jim Ed Brown, Wreckless Eric, R.E.M., Weeed, Naked Roommate, Icecream Hands, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, Chris Cohen, The Foundations, Judas Priest, Surprise Chef, Stereo Total, Fleetwood Mac, Carpenters, and Soccer Mommy. Enjoy!

S05E50 Cover Image: Charlie Watts as photographed by Bent Rej. Why? Check out The Exbats' tune in the third set of this episode.
S05E50 Music Behind the DJ: "Gomez" by Vic Mizzy. Why? It felt like it was time again to play my favorite music bed.
S05E50 Amplifier Header Image: Burt Reynolds discusses his new film in The Simpsons episode "Days of Wine and D'oh'ses" (Season 11, Episode 18). Why? We head eastbound and down in the third set of this episode.
Hopefully, everyone is settling into the new Vinyl-O-Matic scheduling. When next we meet, we'll be wrapping up albums with titles that begin with the letter K as in Kilo and heading down albums with titles that begin with the letter L as in Lima. Join me, won't you?
Stay safe, stay masked, and stay tuned!
